Beach Stairs

Beach Stairs

We were asked to replace an existing set of stairs spanning a small bluff on Discovery Bay near Port Townsend, Washington. The new design relies on anchor points further from the high tide and galvanized heavy steel construction to combat winter’s high salt-water tides. In the event of over-weathering, the 4×12 cedar treads and the cedar cap rail can be unbolted and replaced without compromising the remaining structure.
