Another Pacific Northwest project provides a shaded, wooded retreat near the lushfoothills of the grand Olympic Mountains while still in pleasurable earshot of the tranquil Discovery Bay waters. In an effort to maintain a gentle interaction with the sloped landscape, we’ve opted for a stilted construction. The enclosed space has a 12′ by 14′ footprint with access to a spacious 6′ deep, western facing deck. The adjacent 3′ wide walkway featured along the north wall provides access to both the studio’s interior and deck. A single, low-pitched roof supplements the dense canopy in protecting this retreat from the area’s typical heavy rainfall.
